Deck Feature: Seton, Krosan Protector

Today's feature is Seton, Krosan Protector - built by Jon Waters ( @ominous1030 over on Twitter) . Hear about the deck in (almost all of) Jon's words: "Seton is a druid tribal deck, very underrated in commander but it packs quite a punch! Summoning sickness is not an issue here since Seton allows all of your druids to tap for a green mana, even the turn they come into play. Most druids are elves, so a lot of them are gonna be a form of mana ramp or utility for the deck. Ideally you want to get Seton out as early as possible. After casting Seton you want to be maximizing the mana you can produce each turn into more druids or utility cards to advance your board state. In this version i use a couple artifacts and equipment that will allow me to tap and untap my creatures to create infinite mana which allow for a kill with either Craterhoof Behemoth, Ezuri, Renegade Leader or Kamahl, Fist of Krosa. Hidden Gems: Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Welcome back! When I began digging for cards to discuss in this week's post, I wasn't sure where to look. Almost randomly I landed on Coldsnap. As I was scrolling through the set on Gatherer I came across Into the North, a card I had never seen before (I began playing around Shards of Alara). Here it is: I love ramp spells so naturally I was excited. Immediately I narrowed the search to snow lands. Of course there were the cycle of snow-covered basics that everyone is aware of. What I also found was a cycle of nonbasic snow lands. Yes they enter the battlefield tapped, but they can be grabbed by Into the North and obviously count towards any snow requirements on other cards you might be playing...or that may be printed in the future. What really pushes Into the North to a playable level for me, is its ability to grab three other particular lands from the set: Dark Depths, Mouth of Ronom, and Scrying Sheets.
